It is no secret that all cell phone manufacturers are struggling to come up with the hottest devices as far as smartphones as concerned. With consumers becoming more and more pretentious and wanting cell phones that can connect to the internet, take great pictures and run all sort of applications (simultaneously, if possible), the only way a company can survive is by coming up with phones that please these people. This is also the case with LG, one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world which bring extraordinary news for people passionate about these little gadgets which have become our best friends.

According to Engadget, the new and amazing LG Optimus X2 “hits first in LG’s home market of Korea next month, followed by Europe and other Asian locales in the coming weeks”. With a 4.0 inch display and a 480 x 800 pixels resolution, the LG  Optimus X2 is a sure winner as it renders images as rarely seen before. Users will love social networking integration available on this model and with the wireless capacities of the X2, browsing the internet on a cell phone has never been easier.

The X2, also known as the LG P990 Star, runs its applications thanks to a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 dual core processor. That’s right, a dual core processor, just like the one you probably have on your laptops or computers. With such a processor and the v2.2 Froyo Android operating system, multitasking is taken to a whole new level, unlike anything we have ever seen before. Could it be possible that the Samsung Galaxy S finally met its match? On the back of the phone, users will discover an 8 MP camera, capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. While such a camera has been spotted before on other smartphones, the X2 has a secondary camera with a resolution of 1.3 MP. Now, that is something you don’t see every day.

As this smartphone is prone to be launched in the first quarter of 2011, we are anxious to hear expert reviews as they unbox this gem!
