Everybody’s trying to fight against Apple, dethroning the iPhone (Samsung is the most successful one), finding a worthy competitor for the iPad (again, Samsung had the most realistic chance but still hasn’t won the battle), and creating a laptop that is as thin and performing as the MacBook Air, but cheaper. This has been done, however not in Intel’s latest Ultrabook Category. Asus hurried into announcing Asus UX21 for September but surprisingly, it seems that HP will get ahead and will launch at least two Ultrabook models, according to DigiTimes.
What does an ultraportable laptop in Intel’s perception mean? It’s supposed to be less than 0.8 inches thick, has a long battery life and will cost you under 1,000. Now, that’s something we like. So, according to these rumours, HP’s Ultrabooks will be packed with Intel’s Core i7 at 1.8GHz and 1.7GHz dual-core CPUs. Just waiting for these babies to come around especially as Apple is preparing to release its new line of refreshed MacBook Airs these next few weeks, at the latest.
